Bacon Cupcakes

Hello Bacon Lovers!
Today I bring you the first of many delectable posts. I, Tamara am one half of @come_sitdownwithus ; a food blog featured on Dopes On The Road and Instagram devoted to bringing you the yummiest images guaranteed to make your mouth water!

I am pleased to start this off on the right foot… or taste bud that is! You know the saying “everything taste better with Bacon?” This holds true 10 fold with these Bacon Cupcakes. Yes you read that right. BACON CUPCAKES!


Just remember to have fun and let your taste buds have the time of their life!

3 c. (385g) A.P. Flour
1.5 tbls (10g) Baking Powder
1 tsp (5g) Salt
1/2 c. (173g) Butter
2.75 c. (553g) sugar
tsp vanilla extract
1.25 c. (306g) Milk
6 (200g) egg whites

1 cup (225g) butter
3.5 cups (560g) powdered sugar
t vanilla extract
t milk
pinch salt

Garnish – Bacon Brittle (recipe coming soon) or well cooked bacon

Step 1
-Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2
-In a blender, beat 1.75 cups (275g) sugar and 1/2 Cup butter until pale and thick and then add the vanilla
-In a separate bowl slowly add Flour, Salt, Baking Powder, to the milk and mix
Step 3
– To make meringue, beat egg whites in a separate bowl until they begin to foam then add 1.75 cups (275g) sugar and beat on high until mixture is thick and glossy
Step 4
-Fold meringue into batter
-Fill cupcake molds ¾ and bake at 350 degrees for around 8 minutes or until light brown.
Step 5
Make Frosting:
-Beat frosting ingredients until light and smooth, pipe into pastry bag fitted with star tip.
